How do I upload or add a photo?

All you have to do to upload a picture is:

  • Click on the BROWSE button to find the photo file from your computer
  • Select the image file and click OPEN option -- the photo file extension will load into the text box
  • Click SAVE to upload the photo or CANCEL to erase the image and select another
How do I put my photos into an electronic format so I can upload them to my site?

The three most common ways to put your photos into an electronic format are:

  • SCAN your photos into your computer using a SCANNER
  • Use a DIGITAL CAMERA
  • Use your NORMAL CAMERA and have you photos developed onto a DISC at your local photo lab
Can I use photos I have taken with a normal camera?

YES! This may be the easiest and most effective way to get your pictures into electronic image files. Just use a regular camera with at least 400 ASA speed film for action-oriented pictures. Once you've used up your roll take it to a photo lab and ask them to put your photos on Disc (.jpg files). The cost is around $8 to $10 a roll of 24 exposures. Once your photos are on disc you can transfer those photo image files to the hard drive of your computer. Then its just a matter of uploading those images to your web site. Next to scanning, this is by far the easiest and most cost effective way of getting photos into electronic format and uploaded to your web site.

Can I use a scanner to upload my photos?

YES! Using a scanner is an excellent way of converting your photos into an electronic image to upload to your web site.

If you are unfamiliar with your scanner or scanner software, GET FAMILIAR WITH IT. I may take a few attempts to familiarize yourself with how to do it but it's worth it. If you don't have a scanner find a friend that does or you can buy a high quality scanner for as little as $99.

Can I use a digital camera to upload my photos?

YES! A digital camera works wonderfully for taking photos and converting those images into electronic image files. Familiarize your self with your camera and software so as to learn how to transfer your photos to your computer. If you don't have a digital camera expect to pay a minimum of $400 for a middle of the road camera. Its expensive and using a normal camera and having the photo lab convert your pictures to electronic images on disc may be your best bet.

What type of image files should my photos be?

To post a photograph, you need to turn your photograph into a computer file. This process is known as digitizing. It means you are changing your photograph into digital information on your computer. At Adrenalex.com we make this easy for you. Our software "grabs" the photo from your computer and transfers it to our site.

The best format for photos is .jpg, also known as JPEG. You can also have your image as a .gif file. IMPORTANT -- No matter which method you use or how you save your photo (.jpg or .gif), you MUST keep the size of the file to 50Kb or under! If it's bigger than this, our server will reject the photo and give you an error message!

Do my photos need to be a certain size to upload them?

File sizes must be 50Kb or under. If it's bigger than this, our server will reject the photo and give you an error message!

My pictures look funny, what do I do?

In some cases your photo images may be distorted due to our software programs resizing images to accommodate for the allotted space provided for your image. This situation is unfortunate but necessary. In rare cases the photo may have loaded incorrectly. You may choose to reload your photo image to see if the problem corrects itself.
